WIP Creature from the Black Lagoon (Moebius)

ZIPPERS!
I've started laying in the darker shades of green between the Creature's plating and putting in some salmon and red tones in his gills.
I thought it would be cool to paint in the wet sand where the Creature stands.
Flesh tone painted in. Next, I'll be doing the detail painting on her face and her clothing. I'm anticipating doing the paisley print halter. Ugh!
I'm thinking of arranging the various bits and pieces on the base like this. The plant in the back isn't in this shot because a fresh coat of paint is still drying. I like the skeleton hand coming out from the back of the nameplate, grabbing the rock. It seems to be a good spot for it. The little lizard will be  under the plant.
I added some scenic foliage to the base to hide this odd groove where the rock formation on the right meets the ground. The added texture and color is pretty nice too, I think. The little plant in the back is planted and I have to paint the lizard, skeleton hand, and nameplate and that should do it for the base!
I started painting in the paisley pattern on Julie Adams' halter top. It's fiddly work with a very small brush.

Painted the nameplate in the style of the hand-lettered movie poster.

I decided to give the nameplate a more stylized look So I repainted the background to make it look like light filtering down into the murky Black Lagoon.
Did some painting on the Creature itself. I referenced some old production stills. They may have been preliminary costume tests. There were some interesting brown areas to the Creature's plating, so I tried to replicate that in the painting.
Face detail. I used metallic bronze mixed with Intermediate Green for the eyes. The pupils were painted flat black.
Future floor polish applied with an airbrush for a barrier coat. Then an overall wash of oil color diluted heavily with mineral spirits. This wash goes into the cracks and other recessed detail, darkening the color scheme and creating a more uniformed look.
The zippers were painted with Vallejo Model Colors Metallic Bronze. The oil wash really shows off the detail of the zippers and gives them a perfect worn brass look.
As always, THANKS FOR LOOKING!
